In the wake of global village replicas, a select few places can still leave you gasping for air. The re-open Oceana Damour asserts itself as one of those. It is set in a banana orchard dispersed over a 25,000 square meter lot that is able to accommodate up to 2,500 sun worshippers at once, where rich lush trees and comfort fan you to natural shade. As you bask in the sun, your eyes will gaze at four sapphire pools, where bubbly bar tenders greet you with your drink in the middle of one, sheltered by a boardwalk 300 meters long alongside two docks. In the forefront, house and techno music chants itself an indispensable part of the interior. Then graze greener pastures to rest your sun-kissed body on actual sofa beds across from a scenic set of straw bungalows and changing rooms. Chaste pearl white is another colour that paints itself on the shore before you get yourself wet in the rocky waters. Dining variety is truly the spice of life here as you’re offered everything under the sun. Your taste buds are teased by five restaurant/café picks to choose from like Dunkin’Donuts and Crepaway as well as five bars including the retro La Suite, Oceana’s version of Zinc bar. The maiden beach to follow the United Nations’ Barcelona Conven-tion standards also offers guests an organic vegetable market, artisan artifact shops, a hiking trail, not to mention a nursery for the children. By night, Oceana becomes a distinctly Lebanese trance-like clubbing experience where city glowing lights and tumblers illuminate a huge dance floor. |
