Beiteddine Festival is one of the finest festivals in the Middle East and features the World greatest artists. It is held in a 200-year-old palace in Beiteddine, a little town in the mountainous region of the Shouf, 45 kilometers south-east of Beirut. 2009 PROGRAM. Beiteddine Palace is a masterpiece of the early XIXth Century Lebanese architecture built by Emir Beshir Chehab II on a headland, which overlooks a terraced mountainside. No less than 36 years were necessary to complete and decorate it. [more] PERFORMANCE AREAS. The Palace has several courtyards of which 3 are used on a regular basis during the Beiteddine Festival for performances (Al Midan, Al Salamlek, Dar el Hareem).
