Rice with vermicelli

½ lbs. rice, 6 oz. butter, 10 oz. vermicelli, 1 pt. 12 oz. boiling water, 2 tbs. salt. 

  • Clean and wash rice in cold water. Soak it in hot water, stirring it occasionally, for about one hour. Melt butter in a pot. Break vermicelli and add it to butter and fry till it is golden. Add rice and stir carefully to mix with vermicelli. Add salt and boiling water. Allow to boil hard first then remove to slow heat.

Vermicelli may be increased or decreased according to taste.
