Espace SD is a cultural space dedicated to modern and contemporary art. EXHIBITION SPACE. Its first floor hosts every month an exhibition presenting a Lebanese or foreign artist working with media such as painting, photography, installations or sculpture. Besides this monthly exhibition, the public can – if he wishes so – have access to a parallel room presenting a permanent collection of works by artists having exhibited or collaborated with Espace SD. [more] CREATORS' SPACE. Wanting to put forwards Lebanese creation, Espace SD presents design objects, which conciliate aesthetics and functionality and clothes and accessories, conceived and produced in limited editions by Lebanese fashion-designers. [more] DESIGN SPACE. Espace SD’s third floor is dedicated to furniture design, always by Lebanese creators. Moreover, D-SIGN, a furniture and objects design line, conceived and produced by Espace SD is also on display. [more] LABORATORY. In order to give artists the possibility to express themselves in their artistic research, and to promote more conceptual works of art, Espace SD offers an experimental space in which are presented, each month, different installations. [more] BOOKSHOP. Espace SD also offers a library where one can find books by Lebanese authors or books on the country dealing with topics such as painting, photography, architecture… Visitors can thus inform themselves on Lebanese cultural patrimony and also discover recent publications by contemporary authors. [more] CONFERENCES. Espace SD presents, prevalently in collaboration with the "Ninar" association, a series of conferences concerning cultural, sociological, economical and political themes. [more] MUSIC AREA. Espace SD has also created a music room where visitors can listen and discover alternative local productions, as well as more "classical" Lebanese music. [more] |
